In the heart of Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, California  is one of the most extraordinary sights you may ever see:

Once located in the former home of rock idol, Jim morrison, artist Benjamin Lucas erected a 14 foot sculpture honoring, arguably, the four most influential icons of the rock and roll era.

With a few sketches and a handful of primitive tools, Mr. Lucas and a small group of local villagers hand-carved a 14-foot "totem pole" from one solid white mahogany tree in Bali, Indonesia.

Words alone cannot describe the incredibly moving effect of viewing this great work of our time in person, perhaps because this is indisputably one of the most important representative works of late twentieth century music.
